Board Certified Ophthalmologist
She was posted at Fort Ord, California and the time she spent in The Armed Services gave her the most memorable years of her career. After completing her assignment with the US Army she was employed as Assistant Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at Stanford University, California. She started her practice as a Solo Ophthalmology in Monterey. Later moved to Hollister, Gilroy and Los Banos.
Currently, she holds an Elected position on the Board of Directors of San Benito County Health Care District. Dr. Sharma is also the Founding member on the Board of Directors of San Benito Medical Associates This IPA was established in 1996 and has grown over 100 members strong, actively negotiating Insurance contracts for the Membership with Commercial and State HMO Plans. She is part of the Credentialing and Utilization Review Committees and has been the Treasurer for the IPA for several years. She was honored by State Assembly Member Honorable Luis A. Alejo per Resolution No. 2448 as the 2012 Veteran of the Year for her Service in the Military and the Community Service. She is part of several local Community Projects and a member of San Benito LULAC ( League of Latin American Citizens ).
I keep the office compliant with HIPAA regulations and I perform Medical Chart reviews for “Medical necessity” on a regular basis. I am pleased to report that we were successful in Stage 1 of Meaningful Use for three consecutive years.
